How to report problems with your estate, and how we carry out estate inspections.
Your ‘estate’ covers the shared areas of your building, both inside and outside. For example – landings, stairwells, gardens and bin stores.
If there are problems with your estate
For example, issues cleaning or garden maintenance.
If you have a problem with a neighbour, report anti-social behaviour.
Estate inspections
Check the noticeboard in your building for how often we will inspect your estate.
The inspections will assess the condition of communal areas in and around your building. The things we inspect include:
- Checking if any repairs are needed in communal areas (like lifts or lights).
- Making sure communal areas are clean and safe.
- Reporting any issues around anti-social behaviour (like graffiti or fly tipping).
- Reviewing the work of our cleaning contractors.
If you want to be involved in an estate inspection, contact your local housing manager.
Storing items in communal areas
Do not store any items in communal areas that could obstruct an exit in case of a fire. This includes storing items in halls, landings, stairwells and balconies. We may remove any items found in these areas.
How often we clean/maintain your state
Check the noticeboard in your building for the contractor’s schedule. It should tell you when they’re coming to your building to do things like:
- Clean the inside and outside of your building, including windows
- Cutting grass
- Inspecting trees
