Summary: We’ve teamed up with Woking FC for the second year running to provide free football skills sessions for local children at Kingsmoor Park.
Coaches from the local football team delivered three sessions this month – with manager Alan Dowson visiting on the first day to meet the young players and provide a few tips of his own.
The training was open to girls and boys from the age of five upwards, and free tickets to upcoming Woking FC home games were up for grabs for the most improved footballers.
Kingsmoor Park resident Donny, aged 6, said: “I love playing football with my friends and making new friends at football training.”
Alan Dowson, Manager of Woking FC, said: “Thanks to the efforts of our Cardinals in the Community charity, we can offer football programs all over the borough. It is fantastic to be able to work with children living so close to the football club and hopefully inspire them to begin or continue their football journeys.”
Charlotte Ward, Neighbourhood Manager at MTVH, said: “We’re really proud to partner with Woking FC in delivering these free sessions during the summer holidays. The kids really enjoy themselves and – who knows? – perhaps we have a few future World Cup winners among us at Kingsmoor Park.”
Kingsmoor Park is a development of 371 homes – comprising 224 for affordable rent and 147 which are privately owned – managed by MTVH. The social landlord offers a broad programme of free activities, events, and employment and training opportunities for the entire community, throughout the year.
