RAAC: Resident Update

14 September 2023

Summary:We wanted to provide this update on Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) as over recent weeks some residents have been asking us about our approach.

RAAC was used to construct a number of buildings between the 1950s and 1980s, and there has been major concerns about its presence, especially in schools.

We take any safety issues very seriously and have detailed procedures in place to manage safety risks, including RAAC. As a precaution, we are working to identify whether any MTVH homes potentially contain RAAC and will take targeted action to address any risks should they be identified through this work.

Should RAAC be found where you live we will ensure you are immediately informed and made aware of the action we will be taking.

We hope this is a helpful update.
