How we use your personal information – keyworkers

How MTVH collects, uses and protects your personal information while you live in our keyworker homes.

Why we collect your information

We collect personal information on all our customers to:

  • Check if they’re eligible for housing
  • Provide housing management and repairs services
  • Help them in the event of emergencies
  • Make sure we’re treating everyone fairly

We also use your information to provide services and help us improve the way in which we provide them to you


How we store your information

In line with the Data Protection Act 1998, your information is stored securely on our systems.


Who we share your information with

In most cases, apart from the companies we use to provide services on our behalf and to carry out surveys and send out information to you, we do not share your personal information with anyone else without your permission.


Reasons for sharing your information

We will share your information with the following people or organisations for the following reasons, but we’re still responsible for the safe handling of your data at all times:

  • Your employer, college, University or debt collection agencies relating to any breaches of your tenancy agreement. For example rent arrears, anti-social behaviour etc
  • For any other legitimate business interests of MTVH as your Landlord
  • Contractors in order to carry out repairs or works on your property
  • To detect and prevent fraud, protect public finances and for the detection and prevention of crime
  • Councils, registered providers, government departments, the police, and credit reference agencies
  • The Audit Commission for the purposes of data matching for the National Fraud Initiative
  • Statutory agencies such as social services or occupational health where we have concerns regarding safeguarding
