Check if you can apply for Pension Credit

- Winter Fuel Payment (up to £300 to help pay your heating bills this winter)
- Warm Home Discount Scheme (£150 discount on your electricity bill)
- Housing Benefit
You must apply for Pension Credit by 21 December 2024 to qualify for this year’s Winter Fuel Payment.
Support from the Government and other organisations
Help with your energy bills
You may be able to take advantage of grants and benefits to help with your energy bills.
Help is available from the Government, local councils and energy suppliers.
Join your energy supplier’s Priority Services Register
Joining this means you can get extra help – like prioritising your calls and more frequent meter readings.
Help from your local council
Your local council can help you find spaces to keep warm. They may also help with essential costs like bills or clothes.
Help with health costs
You may be able to get help with prescriptions, dental care, healthcare travel and other health costs, particularly if you’re on a low income or getting certain benefits.
